Dr. Caren Chellgren
Dr. Chellgren grew up in a small rural town outside of Kansas City, Kansas. She started taking Western pleasure lessons at the age of 7. She bought her first horse, Sonny, at the age of 12. Together, they competed successfully in halter, showmanship, and English pleasure shows in the Kansas City area, even winning a year-end Grand Champion award in Showmanship at Halter. At age 16, Dr. Chellgren was introduced to the world of 3-day eventing with her new partner, Ginger. They competed across the country up to Training level. Now, Dr. Chellgren competes at the Novice level with her 13 year old Thoroughbred/Clydesdale mare, Bree.
She attended Kansas State University for her undergraduate studies and veterinary school. Upon graduation, she moved to the Houston area to work at a busy referral practice. She finally accomplished her dream of owning a practice by opening Horse and Hound Mobile Veterinary Services in 2018.
Dr. Chellgren is committed to providing all-around care to your animal. Her interests include dentistry, podiatry, and wound care.
